Las Vegas Trip!

So, last month hubby and I took a bit of a vacation. We, of course, went to our favorite place….Vegas! We drove–much cheaper than flying. We stopped half-way at a really nice hotel that had a great river view! I opened the door to the balcony, and this is what I saw:

Lots of birds! I love birds! I guess it is fair to say that I am a dog person and a bird person. Actually I think I’m an animal person!

Once we got to Vegas, we stayed our first couple of nights at the Golden Gate downtown. It was quite strange….when we pulled up to the valet, he asked us if we were sure we were staying at the Golden Gate. Ok…what was that about? The Golden Gate is a very old hotel that has not had much by way of renovations. The bathroom was 30s style, and the faucets looked like they were original to the 1906 hotel. It had a musty smell, but the room was clean, and the bed and furniture had been updated. We stayed there in hopes of maybe spying some ghosts….but no such luck. Oh well, we tried.

We went to Bike Fest while we were in Vegas. It was quite awesome! And we even got a free t-shirt with admission. There were a lot of amazing motorcycles!

While we were in Vegas, I of course went scrapbooking supply shopping! I went to Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and a wonderful store called The Crafting Place! I have a lovely new friend that works there! I tried last time we went to Vegas, in May, to go to The Crafting Place but it didn’t work out. So I’m glad I could go this time. I even attended a crafting class there! It was so much fun!

I met some wonderful new crafty ladies at The Crafting Place. They made me feel right at home! My friend, Mary, even made me a little goody basket! I felt so welcomed! In the craft class we made fabric pumpkins! They were adorable, and so easy to make.
