New Month, New Sponsor, New Projects!
Well, January is over. What a wonderful first month using Graphic 45! It was so much fun!
Now cheers to a new February! And welcome to a new sponsor…Sherri Baldy Stamps! She makes some amazingly beautiful digital stamps! You must check it out!
I would like to introduce to you my first project! I picked a digi stamp that was already colored to start with. I’ve never worked with digi stamps before. This is a new experience for me. And let me tell you….I love them!
This digi is called Marie In Blue. When I saw it, I immediately thought canvas mixed media! There was just no other choice for this gorgeous design! I used some blue and green paint on the canvas first. Then I sprayed some blue and green sprays on it. I glued some book paper onto the back of the picture then tore it down a few inches. Attached eyelets then thread ribbon through to simulate a corset. I then glued the picture down onto the canvas with some mod podge. I took some cheesecloth, cut it into strips, sprayed it with a blue color, and glued it onto the canvas around the picture to hide and soften the straight edges. I sprayed some medium white roses with pink spray to coordinate with the digi colors. I added some large roses that I already had, and a couple of green leaves. I stamped some flourishes around the edges of the canvas. I also added some pearl beads, and a few small red roses to add some different color. I used red stickles on the birds. I had some dolly curls that my Mom-in-law had given me. I didn’t think I would ever use them, but they were perfect for this, for her hair! Then to make her more regal, I added a resin crown on her head with some clear stickles to add a bit of sparkle.
Yes, she is very sassy, isn’t she? I thought this was just the perfect saying to put on this canvas.
Here’s the beautiful large flowers!
Ahhhhh….what a lovely regal lady! I just love how these curls just fit her perfectly!
I added red stickles to these cute little birdies. It just made them pop off the page!
I added some jewellry to her. Well, she already had some, but I made it 3D by adding some pearly bling! And here’s a close up of one of the medium roses I sprayed.
I just loved the way the corset turned out! I added a piece of doily behind it to look like lacy lingerie!
Love those curls!
I hope you enjoyed my first digi project. I sure did! Leave me some comments to tell me what you thought of it! And if you haven’t visited Sherri’s site….do so now! You will fall in love with these, too! 🙂
OH my I love this, right down my ally, I love the colors, I love the picture, all the accents. A fantastic design. I wish I could create one like this.
