Scrapbook Carnival 2013!

It is that time of year again….I went to the Scrapbook Carnival put on by Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!  It was fantastic!  Each year I go, I get to know more and more people!
This year I went with my friend, Cathy.  She is a quilter, so she enjoyed the other half of the convention which was geared towards quilting, sewing, and other crafts.  We left after work on the way to Calgary.  Stopped and had some yummy supper at Dairy Queen (I know…big spenders).  Anyway, my hubby booked us at a very nice hotel.  It was the same one I stayed at two years prior.  It was late when we got to the hotel, but we still had a few glasses of wine before falling asleep.  ðŸ˜‰
Well, in the morning we were all ready to hit the road and get to the most amazing Carnival ever!
When we got there I headed to the Crop area to pick up my goody bag!  Jackie (from the magazine) said that she didn’t have it.  I said it was probably at her house!  LOL!  I did eventually get my bag.  She wouldn’t dare not give me my goody bag—after all, I would punch her eyelets out if she didn’t!  LOL!!!
If you want to see all the goodies I got in my bag, check out my video…
Doesn’t the crop area look lovely?  You get such a big welcome from all the gals at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, and I also saw a lot of ladies that I was on the Hawaiian scrapbooking cruise with.  It was so wonderful to see them!

It’s such a friendly atmosphere!  It’s like you stepped into a family reunion!  Each year I seem to know more and more people!

People were already shopping at the booths when I got there.  So I unpacked a few of my things….
The theme for this year’s carnival was “Western Cowboy”.  And since I love zebra…..I brought my new zebra cowboy hat!  Gee, how did I know this would come in handy?  Anyway, after settling in, I went off to do some preliminary shopping.  That means I went to scout out what I wanted before buying.  There are so many booths there, it’s so hard to decide!

And here’s a picture of one of the lovely hostesses, Allison!  She was drawing for door prizes during the day.  Hey, where’s my door prize, Allison?  Why didn’t I get one?  Whaaaaahhhhh!  Just kidding…  ðŸ˜‰

So, it was my birthday a couple of days before and my good friend Lynne made me such a wonderful Prima doll tag!  I just love it!  She wrote a personal message on the back, too.  I almost cried!  That was so very thoughtful….

And speaking of Lynne….what are you up to here, girlie?
I should have guessed…she’s playing with the Prima doll stamps again.  This was a Make-and-Take.  Lynne was so absorbed in what she was creating, I don’t think she had any idea I took these photos!
I did take one class at the Carnival.  I though this year I wouldn’t tie myself down with too many classes, and not enough creating and shopping time.  But I’m so glad I took this one class!  It was taught by Emma Lou from Heartfelt Creations.  She is an amazing teacher!  I so hope she teaches again next year.  And their products are so awesome!  If you haven’t checked them out, you must!

And of course while I was shopping, I stopped by The Scrapmobile!  Christy Riopel was demo-ing some Art Anthology Dimensional Crystal glaze.  This stuff is quite amazing!  And yes, I broke down and bought a few.  Christy is such a good enabler!  LOL!

And here we have the wonderful Cathy Allen!  She can make any white piece of cardstock into a fun, beautiful, and amazing colorful playground of scrappy goodness!  If you haven’t taken any classes from her, make sure you do!

And here’s the wonderfully sweet and talented Emma Lou from Heartfelt Creations (and me of course)!

And who could forget the totally awesome ice cream float bar!  What a perfect idea!  Thanks Jackie!  Especially for letting me go back for seconds (and thirds)!  ðŸ˜‰

And so another annual carnival ends….but there is always next year!  ðŸ™‚
